| The pretty market town of St Aulaye is a short drive away (5 minutes) and boasts a Bastide chateau, a small selection of shops, restaurants and cafes and an excellent river beach.
The larger town of Aubeterre, one of the prettiest villages in France is 6 kms from the cottage and offers a bustling square, surrounded by shops and restaurants. The monolithic church built into the hillside is something not to be missed.
Leisure activities in Aubeterre and St Aulaye include tennis, canoeing and river swimming. Golf can be found at The Manoir de Longeaveau, at Pillac, ten minutes away, has a nine-hole golf course, equipment hire and regular competitions.
This area is one of unspoilt natural beauty and offers, walking and cycling for all abilities.

| The cottage has been restored maintaining as many of the original features as possible. There is a large stone fireplace, with log burner, stone walls and wooden floors throughout.
The open plan ground floor consists of a small, rustic kitchen area, a large dining table and soft furnishings.
Wooden stairs lead to the first floor, which consists of a shower room with WC, two double bedrooms and a twin room (for children only).
Off from the living room is a pretty enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and a barbecue. The garden continues down to the river, for swimming, boating, fishing or just relaxing under the willow tree. There is a large grassed area for games and a covered terrace for long, leisurely meals al fresco!
