| La Tranchardière is situated in quiet and private hamlet, overlooking the river Sèvre Nantaise. For relaxing and recharging your batteries this could be the ideal place. For short stays of one or two nights, maybe en-route to the South of France or Spain, we will be happy to accommodate you. If you are a house-hunter we can assist in introductions to local English-speaking estate agents. | |

| Pat and Jeff White would like to welcome you to their recently renovated 19th century farmhouse in the area of outstanding and unspoilt beauty in the Deux Sèvres known as the Bocage Bressuirais. This small region of France is an area that has an historical relationship with the Poitou area and the Vendee and Cholet regions from the time of the Vendee wars. Bressuire is our local town just a few kilometres away that has a superb Chateau and on Tuesday a typical French Market. Bocage is the name given to the type of landscape in the area that contains small fields surrounded by hedges and punctuated by trees and scattered farms and hamlets. We can offer you not only Bed and Breakfast, but also evening meals, if required, by arrangement. All our rooms are comfortably furnished. On the ground floor we have one double room, with en-suite shower-room, basin and WC, one room with double and single bed, en-suite shower, basin and WC, a large relaxing lounge with separate dining area and TV. The grenier has been converted to provide a double room and twin room, with shared shower-room, basin and WC, which could be used as a family suite. We have no problem catering for younger guests, including babies, and, if needed, we do have available a travel cot and high chair. | |

| For a longer break there is plenty of fishing for anglers of all skills, and for those who like a challenge, either on our lake of approximately an acre, which is ideal for youngsters, or on the river. Fishing permits are required for the river and available locally. To date, we have caught and counted 16 species of fish in the river, from Bleak and Gudgeon to Tench, Roach,Zander, Common and Mirror Carp. For the dedicated angler, Pescalis, which is the ‘premiere’ fishing and wildlife complex in Europe, is only a few minutes drive away. Photographers and artists will find many subjects in the area, and for those who have an interest, there is plenty of wildlife, including numerous species of birds, butterflies, moths and other insects. The lanes have many wildflowers in the verges from wild orchids, primroses, cowslips and bluebells in the spring through to wild roses, blackberries and hazelnuts in the summer and autumn. | |
