| The gastronomy, as simple and solid as its inhabitants, is inspired by the double influence of the sea and the country: oysters, mussels, and other shellfish, snails (!), vegetable and pork products, poultries, butter, milk, goat and cow cheeses, Pineau, Cognac, wines etc.
Its cities knew how to keep a human size, its innumerable villages, hamlets, castles, manors are sprinkled within a very dense network of small roads and paths inviting to the promenade. It is a region where people still take time to live according to the rhythm of the seasons, time to chat with eachother, time to contemplate, to listen, to feel...
