| The Moulin de Pirouat is set in the hamlet of Pirouat, approximately 3 kms from Chalais in the South Charente. The Moulin de Pirouat is run by an English couple, Rachel and Oliver Bloom. The house has a small walled garden to the back and front with an additional hectare of private land running parallel to the river Tude. Here you can stroll by the river, enjoy fresh water fishing or just sit and relax.: | |

| For the more adventurous there is a riding school in nearby Medillac, and the gently undulating Charante landscape is ideal for walking and cycling. If you are a sun lover there are several lakes with beaches where you can swim, sunbathe and eat good food. Rachel is an aromatherapist and reflexologist and if you enjoy being truly pampered this would be the place for you. Oliver is an artist and organises water colour painting days out in carefully chosen locations in and around the Charente. Further information on local restaurants, shops, walks, places to visit and things to do is available in the house. How to find us:- Pirouat is on the D64, a turning off the Route de Libourne, south bound from Chalais. Eurostar and the TGV take seven hours from London to Angoulème, from there you can hire a car. Bordeaux international airport (Merignac) is about 75 miles from Pirouat, and car hire is also available from the airport. Distance Paris-Pirouat about 285 miles (450 km). | |
